Early Childhood Education (Kindergarten to Grade 3)

In The Initiative's steering committee's discussions with Ministry of Education officials, the importance of early childhood education was emphasized. The Initiative chose to become active in this field for two reasons: (a) Israel's capabilities on both the research and practical fronts are high and this is an important combination and, (b) worldwide, research in this field is being conducted.

Since the establishment of the Initiative, several expert committees have operated in the field:

  • From Research to Practice in Early Childhood Education (closing document completed Spring 2007. Executive summary available in English)
  • Diagnosis, Assessment and Evaluation in Early Childhood Education (closing document completed Summer 2008)
  • School-Parent Relations during Early Childhood (K-3) and the Link to Child Development and Educational Achievement (final report was completed Spring 2011)
